Diet

  1. Decrease refined carbohydrates. Carbohydrates can cause insulin resistance which can place the body into an inflamed state where allergies propagate.
  2. Eat as many raw vegetables as possible, but watch for foods that worsen the allergies
  3. Dairy can be a big problem for people who are prone to asthma and allergies

Lifestyle

  1. Use an air purifier and vacuum regularly. When choosing an air purifier always choose a “HEPA” filter and choose the filter with the largest filter screen. Consumers Report tested many different filters and brand and, in the end, there was little difference between the brands. The BIGGEST factor for how effective the filter was turned out to be the size of the HEPA filter. The filter system that we recommend is called Intelli-Air by Surround Air.
  2. Drink plenty of water. When the body gets even slightly dehydrated it will produce excessive histamine and any histamine released into the blodd will be concentrated.
  3. Use a netty pot twice daily, in the evening and morning, to flush allergens out of the sinuses.
