Muscle Cramps

Diet

  1. Eat a diet high potassium and magnesium.
  2. Eat as many raw vegetables as possible.
  3. Don’t smoke.
  4. Avoid caffeine, sugar and alcohol.

Lifestyle

  1. Aerobic exercise is important for helping to keep all tissues oxygenated.
  2. If taking a statin drug to lower cholesterol try taking ubiquinol 100 mg twice daily and ask your doctor to stop the statin to determine if it is causing the cramping.

Supplements

  1. JigSaw Magnesium SRT – 2 Tablets Twice Daily
  2. K+2 Potassium – 2 capsules twice daily. This formula can be used to help normalize potassium levels, another cause of muscle cramping and a very common deficiency
  3. B-Complex Plus – 1 capsule twice daily. In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, researchers found that a daily B-complex supplement resulted in 86% less nightly cramps in elderly individuals who suffered with regular severe cramping while trying to sleep. The placebo group had no significant change (J Clin Pharmacology, 1998:38, 1151-1154).
